The Daily Pump Rocks the Red Carpet with Greenhouse @ 99 Sudbury

A New Trifecta of Celebrity Chic and Thrivin’ Good Times

A celebrity shoe blog can’t do any better in it’s offline life than hosting a premiere party for the Fashion Icon that is Valentino himself. TheDailyPump.com served as an official sponsor for a new documentary debuting at the Toronto International Film Festival. We’ve seen the film, Valentino:The Last Emperor, and predict it will be a huge hit upon wide release.
This emotionally rich film contextualizes Valentino’s relationship with fame. There is no shortage of celebs floating through the film. Jackie O. herself married Onassis in a Valentino gown. His couture pieces are objects of glamour, to be sure, yet possess a delicacy that speaks to a gentle soul behind the scenes.
Our party was one of the most sought after invites of the festival. Fashion media clamored for entry not to simply “get a story”, but to pay homage. That’s when you know you’re not simply putting out some canapes and uncorking some champagne. We were celebrating the man who made this iconic pump.

TheDailyPump unrolled the red carpet once more for Benecio Del Toro to toast his new Che biopic. Shinan Govani, society scribe for The National Post, caught some interesting Men’s Room socialist subtext between director Steven Soderbergh and his leading man Del Toro. After trailing the duo into The Oasi Men’s Room, Govani observed Del Toro telling Soderbergh to make sure he tipped the washroom attendant. Read Shinan’s take on the Washroom Revolution here.
We also love that our parties were covered by the fabulous SheDoestheCity founder Jen McNeely for Toronto Life Magazine, where she called the venue, 99 Sudbury “calm, democratic and peaceful” in comparison with the moronic circus of other TIFF venues. And Jen’s has got to be the best Benicio Del Toro headline ever.

Check out these Draven Che Shoes here, much less offensive than the ubiquitous Che T-Shirt.

The 99 Sudbury venue was “greened” up during the festival into an incredible evergreen oasis with a sponsorship from PlantWorld in Toronto. More than 200 cedar trees transformed the adjacent parking lot into a veritable “Greenhouse” just outside 99 Sudbury’s gem: the soon-to-open Oasi Restaurant.
Celebrities and honored guests of Greenhouse @ 99 Sudbury stayed at The Westin Harbour Castle while in Toronto. In keeping with the Greenhouse philosophy, The Westin Harbour Castle employs an eco-conscious business mantra and helps to reduce their carbon footprint through prudent ecologic stewardship. TheDailyPump has always been a big fan of the Westin’s Heavenly Bed concept. Through sponsorship with Cadillac, celebrities were ushered to and from the Westin Harbour Castle in hybrid Cadillac Escalades.

TheDailyPump was honored to be involved with 99 Sudbury, Greenhouse and other sponsors in its inaugural year at the Toronto International Film Festival.
