ShoeMinx Style Watch: Olivia Wilde
Jimmy Choo’s Golden Girl is a Rising Fashion Fave on the Red Carpet

In the red carpet rush at the Golden Globes for snaps and sound-bites of A-listers like Angelina! JLo! And Kate! less well-known stars got the proverbial “you’re not famous enough for me to talk to” snub.
House star Olivia Wilde got no love from Ryan Seacrest and the rest of the E! crew, but style-watchers have pegged her as “one to watch” on the crimson carpet. She certainly caught our eye in a couture confection by Reem Acra that was ultra feminine without being overly saccharine. Olivia even managed to outshine our current fashion BFF, Anne Hathaway. And that’s no small feat!
And that got us thinking. The Globes weren’t her first appearance at an awards show so how the heck did we miss the Olivia love boat before now? We’ve mentioned her before but she is totally deserving of a feature all her own. Allow us to rectify this gross oversight.

ShoeMinx highlighted her earlier as a style stand-out in our coverage of the best of the best at the Globes, but we found an even better snap of her giving good shoe, in this case Jimmy C’s metallic sandal. For future reference: ladies, if you’re going to wear a long dress, this is how you show off the heels so that designers will want to give them to you gratis. Evidently the person who was supposed to teach Rumer Willis, aka Miss Golden Globe, how to pose in a strapless gown dropped the ball on giving this little swag lesson, too. Oye.

Olivia was effortlessly regal again in Reem Arca with Jimmy Choos at the 2008 Emmy’s. Olivia + Reem + JC is definitely a winning combination in our book. Like Angelina, her signature style can be summed up as Keep It Simply Stunning. Minus the tattoos. Of course it helps that she’s ridiculously gorgeous.

And just in case you thought Olivia looked good as a fluke of glamorous gowns and borrowed bling, the small screen star brings the same “what, this old thing?” elegance to casual looks, like this long-sleeve gray dress that she popped from meh to marv-y with edgy two-tone Loeffler Randall heels in black and gray.
We’re crushing on Olivia, but we’re not quite ready to bestow upon her the auspicious She-Can-Do-No-Wrong-And-I-Refuse-To-Utter-A-Bad-Word-Against-Her fashion pass (Cate Blanchett, we’re not worthy!). Yet. But so far, so very good.

All the glitz and glam of the Globes made us want to ditch the comfy slippers we were wearing for a pair of Jimmy Choos, like these ‘Serena’ sandals from the 2009 collection, available to pre-order from ShoeCompare.com. They’re elegant with a modern edge, much like Olivia herself.
