ShoeMinx Man-Candy Special #3: Parade of Olympic Hotties Michael Phelps, Kobe Bryant and Rafael Nadal
Michael Phelps

Okay, now it’s official: Phelps is the greatest athlete in history!
Kobe Bryant and LeBron James are accustomed to having people gawk at them, but there they were in the Water Cube stands Wednesday, as mesmerized as the rest of us by Michael Phelps. The Phelps phenomenon continued at the Beijing Olympics when the American swam across a historic threshold by winning his 10th and 11th gold medals, the most ever won by any Olympian.
Phelps is doing inconceivable things, dominating his sport like no other athlete. Rewriting the record book, and writing it in a new language. Phelps is so fast he’s been described as a hydroplane, a speedboat - parting the water with his oar-sized arms and paddle-sized hands. And he’s crazy hot! ShoeMinx is SO sweet on Phelps.
Kobe Bryant

Despite his reign as a controversy-magnet, it’s hard to not think about how sexy Kobe Bryant really is. Besides being drafted into the NBA right out of high school and going to prom with Brandy, this NBA ace speaks fluent Italian! Having learned finally to share the ball, Kobe Bryant leads the United States’ charge for Olympic basketball gold in Beijing. Bryant will also be looking to emulate Michael Jordan, arguably the sport’s greatest player, by following his MVP title with an Olympic gold medal.
Matt Ryan

Matt Ryan began rowing whilst at the Kings School in Sydney, and enjoyed an immensely successful junior career, winning a gold medal as part of the National Men’s coxed four at the Junior World Championships in 2002. He’s a hottie who’s certainly into body art, sporting tattoos on his ribs, arms and back. The ribs tattoo is a tribal design. On his arm - “one life, one chance.”
Kenrick Monk

Hunky, blond Sydney freestyler Kendrick Monk competes in the 200m freestyle as well as being a part of Australia’s 4×100m and 4×200m freestyle relay squads. Beijing is his first Olympics. A guy who can manage to smile through ab crunches will make our hot list any day!
Trey Hardee

Getting a chance to compete in the Olympics is just about every athlete’s dream. After two days of fierce competition and years of training beforehand, Trey Hardee’s vision of sporting the red, white and blue in Beijing is now a reality. The 24-year-old former University of Texas standout gave it his all in 10 events to get to the games. He is just hotter than hot when he picks up a javelin. Oooh. Yum.
Rafael Nadal

Spain’s sultry Rafael Nadal may not be a Hollywood actor, but he sure can play one on the court. Winning four straight French Open titles is pretty damn sexy. Rafael’s partial to celebrating his Wimbledon wins on the sunny island of Mallorca, off the coast of Spain, with his equally hot girlfriend Maria Francisca. This beach-blissed couple bears a striking resemblance ShoeMinx Man-Candy Alum Cristiano Ronaldo and his girlfriend vacationing in Italy…
Sam McGregor

Now a seasoned competitor as he prepares for his second Olympics, Sydney’s Sam McGregor was just 17 years old when he made his national team debut in 2002 at a World Cup event in Hungary. Originally from Cresent Head on NSW’s mid north coast, Sam took up water polo at the age of 12 to play for nearby Kempsey. ShoeMinx thinks Sam’s got the best back in Beijing! We so wish we could drain the pool…
