Paula Abdul Goes Han Solo on Grammys Red Carpet

There’s Good, There’s Bad And Then There’s Paula . . .

So, the E! red carpet coverage of the Grammy’s was essentially a 3-hour long informerical for American Idol, with past winners kissing Ryan Seacrest’s ring and swearing allegiance to Simon Cowell and his unbuttoned shirts.  Fantastia, Jennifer Hudson, and Carrie Underwood all looked lovely but we scooched closer to the TV when they wrapped, all the better to see the arrival of the Paula Abdul crazy train.  We don’t really watch the pitchy vocal acrobatics of each season’s next “Where Are They Now?” contestants, but the return of the talent show means another smorgasbord of the “Straight Up” singer’s over-the-top outfits.  They’re so bad, they’re good.  Seriously, there must be a way to enshrine them in a museum like the national treasure they are.  She’s like a modern-day Dolly Parton.  All of the bad taste, without the bodacious cleavage.

And God love her, she did not disappoint in a canary-yellow Star Wars-inspired Basil Soda dress, complete with C3PO armaments to repeal any unexpected light saber attacks, and a Princess Lea bun.  Which of course she accessorized with a delicate hair clip.  LOVE it!  When she said she was “a warrior,” evidently she meant a Storm Trooper.  Bravo needs to bring back a second season of “Hey, Paula!” and just show the behind-the-scenes of how these outfits come to fruition.  Come ON, who wouldn’t watch that?!

For style that’s out of this world, these stunning Stuart Weiztman ‘Saturn’ heels are a must!
