Jack Black and Lucy Liu: Shoes to Kung Fu To!

Kung Fu Panda Marketing Machine Hits London sans Angelina

Last night, Jack Black and Lucy Liu were on hand to kick off the premiere of Kung Fu Panda in London. Angelina Jolie, having worked overtime to promote the blockbuster in Cannes, takes a third-trimester break from the action. We love this shot of her flanked by her bump-worshipping co-stars Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black at the photo call in Cannes last May.

Yesterday, the marketing juggernaut continued in Leicester Square, London. No one mounts red carpet stunts quite like the promotions execs at Dreamworks. Marshalling in prop pieces, acrobats, paying guys to stand around in mammoth panda suits… there’s nothing that the Dreamworks marketing machine won’t do to get attention. Jack Black, ever ready to strike a pose, got into “character” for the carpet - resulting in great visibility for Adidas!

You can Kung Fu in style too, find the best price on these obviously sporty Adidas Consortium at Shoecompare.com

And yes, doing stunts like Jack will get you pride of place in the ShoeMinx scheme of things. As you can see here, it goes priority preggers, then hijinks (we love hijinks!), then uumph. Lucy Liu comes in with a sky high uumph factor in these black sling back stilettos.

May we suggest another pair of sexy black slingbacks at Shoecompare.com, these Report Signature Platform Sandals are ready to do some walkin’.

Lauren Conrad: When Reality TV has Consumer Fall Out

The Hills Star is a Designer-in-the-Making, but How Does Her Style Stack up?

Lauren Conrad in Jenny Packham

The Hills (AKA An annoying MTV show about a bunch of parasitic rich kids cheating on each other) has unfortunately afforded dilettantes like Lauren Conrad a coveted spot on the LA Fashion Week Schedule.

But, you should all know, the firm that makes her clothes specializes in making bad, bad clothes plastered with logos. To get Lauren her current clothing line, MTV execs approached Steve Friedman, the owner of Tangerine Promotions in suburban Chicago. The firm specializes in “tchotchkes, trinkets and trash” with company logos, he says, and MTV is one of his biggest clients. Although Tangerine has no experience in contemporary women’s apparel, Mr. Friedman agreed to team up with MTV. ShoeMinx sees this as a most unholy alliance, fleecing MTV-addicted teens of their recreational income allowance.

As for Lauren’s own fashion sense, it’s dubious at best. We can see she’s practiced this “I’m a whirly ballerina crossing my feet ever so delicately” pose at home in front of the mirror since she was, like, 7.

According to Lauren (from her website laurenconrad.com) she chose to wear these Jimmy Choo Metallic Juliet Sandals because “a special night calls for a special shoe”. Well, it seems Lauren had several “special nights” as she was photographed in this same shoe twice.
