Yes They Did: Michelle Obama Confirmed As March Vogue Cover Girl
Inaugural Dress and Cover of Vogue? Jason Wu is Officially a Made Man.

“I’m every wom-an . . .” Professional woman. First Lady. Mom-in-Chief. The work-life balance that this particular mother struggles with are so not typical, and now the multi-hypened Mrs. O has another tag: Vogue cover girl.
Fashion’s leading lady gets the supermodel treatment on the cover of the March issue, only the second First Lady to grace the cover, after Hillary Clinton. After titans Anna Wintour and Andre Leon Talley did so much for the Obama campaign, Michelle probably would have found it difficult to say “no,” but thankfully it looks like she did turn down their less than stellar styling attempts. Not a bizarre bolero or cinched shapeless sack in sight.

In the just leaked snap taken by Annie Leibovitz, Michelle bares her enviably toned arms in a magenta Jason Wu dress, the designer who was the plum pick for her inaugural dress. You can’t buy this kind of advertising! Inside the mag, Michelle wears a black dress by Narciso Rodriguez, who designed her controversial red-and-black Election Night dress, and matching kitten heels. It’s like a pitch for a new Bravo reality show: “Dueling Designers. Ready, set, sew! Who will make it to the store racks and who will be cut out of the running?”

And unlike Anna Wintour’s “recession chic” issue where she offered “inspired finds under $500″ (rolls eyes), Michelle shows the budget-conscious sensibility she displayed on the campaign trail, modeling a J.Crew salmon wool cardigan, top, and tweed skirt. The total look is priced under $400 (and the store’s website will be crashing in 3, 2, 1 . . . ). Maybe getting everyone to shop at the mid-range retailer is the real key to economic stimulus.

Kitten heels, like these from Gabriella Roche, are the perfect compromise between flats and heels. Choose a pair with a pointy-toe and that gives great toe cleavage to lengthen the leg line.

Singer Adele Will Be In Vogue At The Grammy Awards
Anna Wintour Goes From “The Devil Wears Prada” to Glam Squad Goddess

British singer Adele had better bring it on the red carpet at the Grammy Awards on Sunday. As if being a nominee for best record for her hit Chasing Pavements isn’t a big enough deal, the Amy Winehouse successor is being styled by the She Bangs She-Devil herself, Vogue’s Anna Wintour.
“It was just like The Devil Wears Prada,’ Adele said. Then Wintour offered to style her for the Grammies, she added in disbelief. “I got a really nice dress,” Adele said. “I don’t ever wear dresses. I wear dresses with tights and flat shoes and a cardigan. But I am going to get my boobs out and everything. It’s going to be quite a big deal.”
But just because Anna has front row seats at every fashion show on the planet and can raid the best clothes racks outside of Barney, there’s no guarantee that Adele will be a shoe-in (ha!) for “Best Dressed.” Though considering some of the bizarre looks that have shown up at the Grammies, “Best Dressed” is kind of relative.
Remember Kiera Knightley’s “WTF?! Was She Attacked By A Weed Wacker?” cover? And that weird Photoshop-y thing they did to Gwyneth Paltrow where it looks like her head is floating a full foot in front of her neck? With all those fashion faux pases, plus those pesky and persistent rumors of her impending retirement weighing on her padded shoulders, Anna will be out for Style Redemption.

One word of advice to Adele: Don’t let anyone near you with anything that even remotely resembles a Ziggy Stardust bolero jacket. You just know that Andre Leon Talley is still in a snit because everyone turned their nose up at his grand fashion vision.
The British torch singer competes in four categories at Sunday’s Grammy Awards, including record of the year for the breakup ballad “Chasing Pavements.”

These Sigerson Morrison ‘Belle’ shoes are flat out fabulous!
