Project Runway Champ Christian Siriano Fashions Affordable Footwear for Payless

The Christian Louboutin of the “Luxe for Less” Set or A Hot Tranny Mess?

Arguably best known for fashioning the word “fierce” as the definitive adjective for all things awesomely awesome, Project Runway’s wunderkund Christian Siriano has scrapped MacGyvering outfits for WWE Divas to follow in Heidi Klum’s size-9 entrepreneurial footsteps.  The Pint-size Prince of Quips has inked a deal to lend his fabulousity to a shoe collection for Payless.

“I have a pretty huge fan base, not to toot my own horn,” Siriano said. “But a lot of those are Project Runway watchers and they’re young. They’re in school and aspiring to be artistic and they can’t afford my clothes.”

The BOGO footwear emporium has ramped up their style quotient from “tickety tack tacky” to affordable chic in recent years, thanks to collaborations with high-end designers like Patricia Fields, Lela Rose and Stacey Bendet (Alice + Olivia).

No word yet on Siriano’s style direction, but behind-the-scenes style-mongering from his Fashion Week Spring show, and the set of the Elle photoshoot that was part of his prize package for winning Project Runway last year, suggest a fondness for dramatic statement shoes.  And a glue gun.  As if he was about to be judged by Nina Garcia and Michael Kors at the end of another PR challenge - but without Tim Gunn erudite’s “make it work” - Siriano transformed inexpensive shoes for the runway using feathers and flowers as flourishes.  Just imagine what he could turn out with the resources of a major manufacturer at his disposal!

Siriano’s Payless line will debut at New York Fashion Week in February, and will be sold at about 400 Payless stores across the US.  Price points will range from $25-$45. Says Siriano: “I’ve already been working with the Payless Design Team in New York, and I can’t wait to see how they will take the high-end shoes and bags I’m designing for the runway and turn them into pieces that everyone can buy.” Us too!

Heidi and Spencer’s Stunt Wedding: More Proof They’re Bigger Media Whores Than TomKat

Reports coming out of Mexico are beginning to suggest that while Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt went through the motions and have the photos to prove it, they may not be legally wed.

According to sources south of the border, the stars of The Hills - being American - would have had to undergo a lengthy process which includes a blood test from a local physician, as well as providing authorities with birth certificates.

For a fame hungry couple, there is nothing like a secret marriage to get your name in the magazines. Well, the wedding was not legal as the couple not only forgot to obtain a marriage license, they also did not take part in a separate civil ceremony which is required in Mexico to make the union binding.

The Hills star stunt-wed her longtime beau, Spencer Pratt, in a “secret” ceremony in Cabos San Lucas, Mexico, on Nov. 20, 2008.

This mediawhore couple who breaks out into this cheesy photo op for any old paparazzi with a Nikon:

Not only did the couple claim to be married, US magazine splashed their pic on the cover of their magazine. With friends in shock and congratulating them and Heidi’s father in an uproar that he was not consulted, the couple was probably guilted into telling everyone the truth.  They just admitted that their wedding ceremony near Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, was in-fact symbolic, not legal. In a statement, the couple said:

“We had a beautiful ceremony here…officiated by a minister and photographed by the hotel photographer. We’ve never been happier. And, like other elopements that happen outside the country, we’ll take care of the legal details when we get home.”

When the news broke about the elopement, MTV seemed as shocked as everyone and congratulated the couple on their marriage, but now it appears that they just happened to be in town to shoot it all for season 5 of The Hills? How stupid does MTV think the show’s fans are? Wait, don’t answer that.

If you’re planning a REAL wedding, there’s no better time to wear a pair of shoes that really make a statement than the day you skip down the aisle. Be they designer or just something bold like this pair from Coast, you can’t go wrong. These Anjolie shoes are a fantastic pair in gold with that unmissable eye-catching corsage detail.
