Benicio Del Toro, Steven Soderbergh and Rachel McAdams: Celebrating Che at Greenhouse @ 99 Sudbury
Viva Che! Viva Social Revolution at 99 Sudbury!

Sarah Palin and Barack Obama were talked about as much as Che at the official TIFF premiere party for Steven Soderbergh’s new biopic at Greenhouse @ 99 Sudbury. The party was blistering with buzz from the A-List attendees reclined on the most beautiful terrace in Toronto. If you gauge a festival party’s success by how long the cast stays, Greenhouse @ 99 Sudbury is the Michael Phelps of party hosts! A total gold medalist in making The cast was there for a total of 8 hours! As a seasoned, hardcore Cannes-to-Dubai-to-Sundance festival party veteran, ShoeMinx has simply NEVER seen anything like it.
Hard to believe that the venue, new hot spot restaurant The Oasi, was barely operational when the festival started. The paint was quite literally still drying as celebs sat down to sip cocktails in the venue’s gorgeous vaulted salon style sitting rooms. Which makes the seasoned VIP service all the more remarkable as the full-throttle staff barely had time to warm up.
Think Nikki Beach-Style Chic. Simply incredible. Yes, party people, there is a new kiss on the lips of rabid event planners who want to impress this fall season: The Oasi Restaurant. We won’t be surprised if Wendy Creed comes calling to host an Oprah event the next time the big O is in Toronto. It’s that impressive. Everything about The Oasi is high-end. Right town to the sculpted “propeller” steak knives.

The cast of Che dined on savory steaks and the most fragrantly divine miso cod while the crowd swooned at the sartorial splendor of the venue. When an ottoman can steal the spotlight from an Oscar Winner, that’s sexy decor.
At around midnight, the cast migrated from the cozy, intimate setting of The Oasi to the throbbing club venue of 99 Sudbury’s social club. The cast enjoyed the bottle service of 360 Vodka until 4 AM! Shot after shot, this hardcore team wasn’t going anywhere.

Steven Soderbergh goes beyond the T-Shirt revolutionary and into bonafide social portraiture with his two new films about Che Guevara; The Guerrilla and The Argentine. At TIFF they are being screened as Che 1 and Che 2. Benicio Del Toro’s performance is garnering Academy Award nomination buzz for his turn as Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara. Del Toro brings a rueful humanity and smoldering charisma to the prized role. Rachel McAdams turned up in delicious black pumps and a brand new ‘do to the screening.

Party guests George Stroumboulopoulos of CBC’s The Hour and actress Erica Cox only remember 99 Sudbury as Toronto’s famed after hours club. In fact, Cox was as bowled over by the renovation as by George.

99 Sudbury, now housing a state of the art fitness complex and The Oasi, is making the most impressive debut in recent years. We can’t wait to see what happens when the official Rolling Stone Magazine Party hits the best TIFF venue ever this Saturday night!
