Batman The Dark Knight: Maggie Gyllenhaal is One to Watch This Summer
ShoeMinx has a feeling that Maggie Gyllenhaal will blow Katie Holmes out of the water when it comes to filling Katie’s shoes in the coveted role of Rachel Dawes in The Dark Knight, opening next Friday, July 18th.

Maggie’s a solid performer and is bound to have a kinetic chemistry with Christian Bale. ShoeMinx has been crushing on Maggie since drooling over her Mary Jane shoes in indie cult hit Secretary.
The critically acclaimed actress was quick to distance herself from Tom Cruise’s wife, who received lukewarm reviews for Batman Begins. If you’ve been following along, several different actresses were rumored to have been up for the role. Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, and several others were all rumored to be in contention along with Maggie.

“I’m not walking into Katie Holmes’ performance,” Gyllenhaal said when the announcement of her attachment to the film was made last year. “I’m thinking of it as an opportunity to play somebody who’s alive and smart. Chris (Nolan the director) asked me to do this because he wanted me, not because he wants some generic lady in a dress.”

Jake’s big sister has certainly never been just some generic actress in a dress. ShoeMinx Loves Maggie’s sense of style. Shop for sexy T-Strap pumps like Maggie’s here.

Ok…here’s what I don’t get. Maggie is an ugly woman. Why does Hollywood keep giving her roles that describe her as “beautiful”. She is not. In every single movie I have ever seen her in she has a droopy, saggy face and looks old old OLD. She also has horrible skin. Quit describing her as beautiful people. We are not idiots who will just believe it because the movie scripts call her so. Give the “beautiful” roles to women who actually are!

I totally agree. She is hideous. I don’t have a problem with her being in a movie or being someone’s girlfriend. I can look beyond the ugliness and say oh maybe she’s a nice person but if you put her in a role where she’s supposed to be gorgeous ande beaufitul? What the heck?
