Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson: Bride Wars Stars Make It to The Red Carpet On-time

His ‘n’ Hers Ensembles Offer Sneak-Peek of Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson Wedding (Assuming They Don’t Break Up . . . )

As if the cover of Modern Bride and the relentless movie trailers, to say nothing of the helpful step-and-repeat boards in the background, weren’t enough to hammer home the point, “Hey, we have a new movie out and you should totally go see it!,” Bride Wars stars Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson took a nontraditional trip to the altar for the premiere of their Bridezilla-esque chick flick.

In the name of marketing synergy, the big screen battling brides showed up on the Tiffany blue carpet (get it: something borrowed, something blue . . .) as each other’s dates.  Kate, as the “bride,” wore a floor-length black and white geometric patterned strapless mermaid gown from the Oscar de la Renta Spring 2009 collection, while Anne sported a double-breasted suit, befitting of any groom.  Anne accessorized her nice-day-for-a-white-wedding androgyny with a brilliantly bling pair of Christian Louboutin ‘Very Galaxy’ gold mirror satin peep-toes.

After going through The Break-up of the Year, it’s no wonder Anne passed on playing Bridal Barbie and the whole “I’m OK being single but someday my prince will come” thing for the umpteenth time.  But after two back-to-back wedding-themed flicks, here’s hoping her next role has nothing to do with tulle, veils or the color blue.  One more and she runs the risks turning into a sad sack Jennifer Aniston clone.  Seriously, Marley and Me: The Sequel is nothing to aspire to.
