Mischa Barton and Kim Cattrall walk the Hugo Boss Red Carpet
Stars in Berlin for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week
What does Mischa Barton do for a living? We know what she did for a living, but since that fatal (albeit fictional) Orange County car crash, we’re really not quite sure how she spends her time between photo ops, event-hopping and DUI busts.
To stoke this mystery, she popped up on our radar in Berlin for the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week and dazzled at the arrivals of the HUGO by Hugo Boss show. The Girl Formerly Known as Marissa struts her stuff for the photogs in, unsurprisingly, a little Hugo Boss number. See that smirk? That’s directed at those who criticized those unflattering bikini shots just weeks ago. To further make her point, she walked the runway in her belted Boss. She doesn’t just model Keds, folks.

To represent those of us who no longer pine for the days of man-boys named Seth and Ryan, Kim Cattrall also stopped by with Eva Padberg. Kim took a calculated risk in horizontal stripes, and made a statement worth emulating in her orange pumps. Bright is the new neutral. Whenever Sarah Jessica Parker doesn’t show, Kim gets to play fashion icon. And at 51, she plays it well.

Take a note from Mischa and Kim and start planning your wardrobes for spring/summer ’09. Grab yourself a pair of black slingbacks, another pair of bright pumps, and stay tuned to ShoeMinx for your trend watch on all things footwear. You may not be a professional party-attendee like Barton, but there’s no reason you can’t walk like one.
If you need a place to start, you can’t go wrong with Gucci. Ever. Walk your own runway in these ‘Sunset’ platforms, and you’ll probably end up renaming them ‘Sunrise.’ Because with shoes like these, you’ll be dancing ‘til dawn. Shop for the best prices on Gucci here.

Leighton Meester vs Diane Kruger at the Longchamp 60th Anniversary Party
ShoeMinx Loves Leighton… Do You?

Leighton Meester is the new Shannen Doherty. Without the whole “everyone hates working with her” thing. So far. But unlike Brenda Walsh, a victim of cookie-cutter ’90s fashion, Blair Waldorf’s iconic style (really, why else do people watch Gossip Girl?) is helping catapult Leighton into fashionista-in-training status on the red carpet. Almost the way Carrie Bradshaw turned Sarah Jessica Parker into a designer’s muse. But not quite. Because Carrie is untouchable. Remember that.
And because the starlet knows that you can’t go wrong with Dior, she rocked their bold black and white Mary Janes at the Longchamp 60th Anniversary Celebration in New York with her classic BCBG Max Azria little black dress. We absolutely adore this shoe and dream about picking up a pair in this deliciously sophisticated peacock blue hue:
And we have to say, Diane Kruger is right on message for a Longchamps party - if she wants to court a sponsorship deal, that is. Diane looks fashion-forward, but what’s with the lost opportunity with the shoes? The girl either needs a better tailor or a fierce pair of red carpet Booties! And we’ll always vote for Gucci.

Also at the party - the stunning Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri. We love Amurri in Saved! with Mandy Moore and Macaulay Culkin, and look for her to take on larger roles.

Back to Leighton. ShoeMinx just can’t get enough of this girl. This past week, Meester’s been pulling off black-and-white perfection, coyly posing for the flashbulbs as if unaware of her beauty. Believe us, she knows she’s all that. Pretty in paisley in a Giambattista Valli dress and Dior sandals.

Do we envy? To the point of secretly wishing she’d trip over those magnificent creations? We believe that’s the point. After all, it’s not called Friendly Girl. Shop for Leighton’s Dior shoe styles here.
